    Ku'ikahi Mediation Center hosts the "Finding Solutions, Growing Peace" FREE BROWN BAG LUNCH SERIES. Held monthly on Third Thursdays from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney at 655 Kilauea Avenue in Hilo. Each month an invited speaker presents a different topic. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch, enjoy an informal and educational talk-story session, and meet others interested in "Finding Solutions, Growing Peace." Free and open to the public.     As part of its "Tools to Transform Conflict" Training Series, Ku'ikahi Mediation Center presents NEGOTIATION SKILLS FOR WOMEN. Facilitated by Elizabeth Kent, this workshop takes place from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm at UH-Hilo, UBC 127 in Hilo (parking fee of $3 applies). We negotiate constantly--with our spouses, partners, bosses, children, peers, and others. Do you want to develop the skills you need to negotiate successfully and narrow the gender gap? Join us to participate in simulated negotiations, plus learn the stages and components of negotiation, including offers, counter-offers, and modes of communication. Co-sponsored by University of Hawai'i at Hilo, UH-Hilo Women's Center, Hawai'i Women's Leadership Forum, YWCA of Hawai'i Island, and Ku'ikahi Mediation Center. Facilitated by Elizabeth Kent, this workshop takes place from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm at UH-Hilo, UBC 127 in Hilo (parking fee of $3 applies). Essential communication skills include being patient, personable, positive, and respectful. Want to increase your emotional intelligence (EQ) from a mediator's point of view? Learn to listen with your head, heart, and body--and to articulate clearly and directly using "I" statements. Explore what to do when someone doesn't communicate effectively and how to offer a great apology when you don't. Co-sponsored by University of Hawai'i at Hilo, UH-Hilo Women's Center, Hawai'i Women's Leadership Forum, YWCA of Hawai'i Island, and Ku'ikahi Mediation Center.     BENEFIT PREVIEW PARTY to kick off the Hilo Orchid Society's 66th Annual Orchid Show & Sale. The gala event runs from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Edith Kanaka'ole Stadium. The Preview Party features fine wine and beer tasting, catered food, live music, and orchid viewing and pre-sales. Proceeds benefit Ku'ikahi Mediation Center and Hilo Orchid Society's scholarship fund. Tickets are $70 ($25 of which is tax deductible) and includes a souvenir wine or beer glass. Tickets are available at Day-Lum Rentals, The Most Irresistible Shop, Hilo Coffee Mill, and Ku'ikahi Mediation Center.     Ku'ikahi Mediation Center - in participation with the Hawai'i County Bar Association - is hosting our 13th ANNUAL RECOGNITION DINNER AND AUCTION at Nani Mau Gardens in Hilo to help fund our non-profit human services agency. This year's event honors: TO BE ANNOUNCED. No-host cocktails are served at 5:00 p.m. and dinner is served at 6:00 p.m. The buffet features: TO BE ANNOUNCED. Tickets are $95 per person (of which $50 is tax deductible).
